2011-12 Think Breakfast! Initiative
Helping Students Make Better Breakfast Choices
This year’s Think Breakfast! initiative includes an interactive CD storybook and the New York State Walkabout Challenge. It provides a dynamic way for students to learn the value of eating well and daily physical activity. Students can create their own story! This includes developing characters and choosing different ways to train for a big field day event. When completed, they can print out their very own books.
The Activity Books contain a variety of word search, hidden picture, and fun maze sheets. We suggest students use pencils, because there will be quite a bit of trial and error. This is probably the time to hand out fruit erasers.
It is all about making good choices! That is why the CD stories your students create are based on their ability to choose foods and activities that will help them succeed. In addition to the CDs, we have made the electronic stories available for the students and their parents to access online. Encourage your students to visit thinkbreakfast.com. There are other educational tools that help encourage eating a healthy breakfast. You will also find new lesson plans.
